Andrew J. Chappell III

OKLAHOMA CITY
Andrew J. Chappell III, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away Aug. 25, 2015. He was born on Sept. 10, 1940, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Andy was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1958. Andy retired from a long career in the automotive industry. He had a passion for cars, especially racecars. Andy raced stock cars in the 1960’s at Taft Stadium. His love of racing continued to present day. Andy also had a great respect and love for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, of which he proudly was made an honorary member. Andy was a man’s man; working hard to provide for his family. He was a man who would go out of his way to help others.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Donald Chappell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Connie; son, Andrew J. Chappell IV and wife Kristi; daughter, Janet Tarnacki and husband Joe; sister, Barbara Bonderant and husband Ken of CO; sister, Wilma Dickerson of Ardmore, OK; grandchildren, Benton Whipple and wife Shelby; Samantha Collier and husband Colby; Jacklyn Chappell; Andrew J. Chappell V; and great granddaughter Marley Whipple.
A memorial service for Andy will be held at 10 am on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Castle Falls located at 820 N. MacArthur Blvd. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73127.
