Arnold Tim Sullivan of Yukon, OK, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 15 at the age of 75. Tim was born in Hallowell, KS to Ella and Emmett Sullivan on August 8th, 1946. He graduated from CCRHS in 1964. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968. Tim then went to work at Princess Homes until it closed then Yellow Freight where he retired after 33 years.
A devout Christian, Tim accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was an active member of Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, OK, sharing his faith with family, friends, even strangers. Tim loved hunting, fishing, carving, and painting. An avid lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed camping in his RV, metal detecting, arrowhead hunting, and playing music with his handmade dulcimer. Known for his fantastical tall tales and quirky sense of humor, he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Sullivan of the home. Children, Kristi Miller (Gary) of Frontenac, KS and Scott Sullivan (Misty) of Columbus, KS. Grandchildren Megan Tilley (Matt) Aaron Sullivan (Natalie), Seth Sullivan (Meagan Kay), and Kylie Miller. Great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Adalynn, Kinlee, and Kayson. He is also survived by his siblings Emmett Sullivan, Jr. (Ruth Ann), Bob Sullivan (Roberta), Edna Vance (Gary), and Ramona Meise.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Ella Sullivan.
A visitation with his family and memorial will be held on Saturday, Sept 25th at The First Baptist Church in Oswego, KS. Visitation will be at 2 pm with service to follow at 3 pm. Jim Irwin officiating.
In place of flowers, the family requests donations are made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital and/or The Warrior’s Project to assist veterans.
