Sofia,
Recently, I shared with you the impact that your mother had on me when I was very young. When I met her in June 1986, she took me under her wing. She shared her knowledge and gave me the support I needed me to grow both professionally and personally. I know for certain that I would not be where I am today without her influence and support. Carolyn was instrumental in changing the direction of my life – not in theory – but in practice. She was a beautiful hot mess! She will be missed. ~Janine

Sofia,
You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I could say so much about your mom just don’t have the room for it all. I do know that you were the love of her life! She always wanted the best for her baby girl. She is very proud of the woman you have become! You gave her a precious granddaughter whom she loved and adored so much! She was like a 2nd mom to me and I miss her dearly! Thank you very much for allowing me to come and see both of you! She will always and forever be looking after you, Sofia. You have a VERY special angel watching over you!!! God Bless you and your family. Your momma loved you girls with all her heart!
Jim and Dar Carter says
Silver and I fell in love with each other the first day we met. She was always so much bigger than life, she met each person at their level but was always challenging them. She was generous beyond measure. You didn’t want to compliment her on her jewelry because she would take it off and give it to you. She was bright, articulate and NEVER met a stranger. She always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis and now she is getting a “first hand” view. There will be many things that will be remembered about Silver but mainly it will be her trust and love of her Lord, her love for her Sofia and her wonderful, spontaneous laughter and of course her beautiful Silver hair. She will be missed and Jim and I are so grateful that she was part of our lives.

My sweet friend, I am so sorry you are going thru this terrible time. You have always been such a caring, intelligent and fierce advocate for your precious mother. What a special thing for her to be able to have faith and comfort in knowing you would be caring for her until the end. Prayers and love.

Sofia, my dearest friend. In the short time I knew your mother I was inspired by her energy and love. It was clear to see you were her most important gift and she gleamed and glowed when she spoke to me on how proud she was of you. She looks over you now, forever you will be under her protection and Grace. I love you. Thank you for being a wonderful daughter, mother, wife and friend. I pray for peace to you and your family.
Ginny Grilley says
Silver: the most loving, generous and beautiful lady. She manifested the true beauty of God’s word and was not afraid to show her love of the Lord often saying that the Lord had blessed her with much in order that she could go out and share her time, her love and her treasure. I loved her dearly. She was loved and admired by a large number of fellow bridge players, a game she dearly loved and at which she excelled. Every week since she retired to assisted living, folks at the bridge club would ask how she was and send best wishes. Most of all she cherished her daughter Sofia and granddaughter. They were the highlight of her life. I know Silver is with her God now and free from illness and pain. Silver: thank you for the privilege of being your friend. I loved and admired you so much. Will miss you.
William (brother Bill) says

Cousin June Norman says
I feel so fortunate to have had our “cousins group” visit a few years ago with lovely Carolyn. I totally agree that she shone like an Angel with her magnificent silver hair. There was so much more to her up close in real life than any photos or messages could show. I was truly surprised. And I did–unknowingly–admire her whole look of dress and jewelry including an amazing Jade ring, which later came in the mail to me. My heart goes out to Sofia (hope to meet you some day) and of course to Marilyn, her twin, who must be struggling with loss but also comforted that Carolyn is in a wonderful place in Heaven now. You were close to my heart, Carolyn, whether distant in miles or not, and you forever will be.
Cousin Debbi Dollar says
Rest in peace Carolyn. I am so happy I got to reconnect with you again when you, Marilyn and Ted visited Arizona a few years ago. I still remember how much you resembled Grandma Dollar – so pretty! I enjoyed our chat and hearing all about your beautiful daughter and granddaughter. My sympathies to Sophia, Marilyn and Bill – may you take comfort in knowing Carolyn has joined your Mom and Dad (and many extended family members) in Heaven. Prayers and love to you all during this difficult time.
