Charlene Fay Phillips, 75, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2020. She was born in Berkeley, California on January 25, 1945 to J.C. (Jake) and Opal Ford. Her family moved to Oklahoma where they lived in various towns before settling in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1963 and attended business school in Oklahoma City.
In 1979 she married her high school sweetheart, Preston Phillips, and they raised their family in Oklahoma City.
Charlene worked for a few companies before she settled on First National Bank of Oklahoma in which she spent the next forty years working in the financial services industry. She retired from MidFirst Bank in 2009.
She enjoyed reading, specifically reading mysteries, gardening, coin collecting, family events and reunions, “we girls” and being with her children and their families. In her spare time, she volunteered at the OETA telethon.
Charlene is survived by her two children, LaTisha Brogdon of Powder Springs, Georgia and Christopher Phillips of Norman, Oklahoma; son-in-law John Daniel Brogdon of Powder Springs, Georgia; and daughter-in-law, Katherine Phillips of Norman, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Garis of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jimmie Ford of Alexandria, Arkansas and Donnie Ford of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
