Born on 3-26-57 in Springfield, Illinois, Charles “Chuck” William Estes, was God’s tenth gift to Archur Estes, Sr. and his wife Doris Emma Jane.  Charles, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was called home by that same God, whom he accepted as his Lord and Savior after a tough battle with cancer.

In his early life, Charles managed a bowling alley and was Regional Manager for TGI FRIDAYS in the Dallas, Texas metro and the Lexington, Kentucky areas.  He was very well suited for this kind of work as he was a man who never met a stranger, was never judgmental and always had a kind word for those in need.  In Oklahoma City he was owner of CHARLES ESTES CONTRACTING, BUILDING & REMODELING.

Charles loved Blues, Jazz, Classical and Country music  He was an avid bowler and was a DIE HARD CUBS FAN.

Charles considered his biggest blessing to be his 6 children and 9 grandchildren who survive him: Shaun Estes, Daniel (Taylor) Hooberry, Katherine (Elias) Mazariegos, Christina Hooberry, and twins Deborah (Todd Phillips) Burks, Kelly (Taha) Alasi;  Grandchildren: Ethan, Madison, Zain, Maya, Tyler, Brynlee, Boston, Zeke and Kala all residing in Texas. 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Betty Ann, Archur Jr, and David Paul Estes of Springfield, Illinois and Gloria Ann Ackerman, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Clara Jane Lay of Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Charles is survived by siblings Barbara Furgeson of Suffolk, Virginia, Michele Lee of Canton, North Carolina, Patricia Creviston of Rochester, Illinois,  Linda (Clarence) Reeves of Talbotton, Georgia, Eileen (Robert) DiBartolomeo of Mechanicsburg, Illinois,  Connie Estes of LaGrange, Illinois and Ruth Estes, Roger Estes and Doreen (Dan) Stumpf all of Springfield, Illinois.   He also leaves behind a long time companion Reba Gaddis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Charles will be laid to rest at CHATHAM CEMETERY, Chatham, Illinois.  A memorial service will be held at a later date .
