Chester Warren Davis

September 2, 1935  –  October 8, 2020

In Yukon, Oklahoma on September 2, 1935 Chester Warren Davis took his first breath.   Born to Curnel Homer and Helen Estelle (Belyeu) Davis, he is now the baby of four children.

October 29, 1954 Warren married Segreta Mae (Williams).   Married just shy of 66 years!   During this union they welcomed and raised four children, primarily in Wellston, Oklahoma.

Warren supported his family as a cabinet and trim carpenter for all but a few years.   He was proud of the opportunity he had to train and work with his only son and several of his grandsons.   During the few years he took a break from carpentry, he and Segreta worked in Iowa and Texas, caring for and working with mentally challenged “boys”.   He loved his redbone hound dogs and spent many hours hunting raccoons and acquired many ribbons and trophies.   He also enjoyed deer hunting adding meat to the table each year for the family.   While living in Sweet Home, a community outside Wellston, he gardened several summers.   For one summer he even grew peanuts.   Warren could sketch decently when he wanted and could whittle small items giving them the smallest of detail, sadly he rarely did either.

At 8:00 pm on October 8, 2020 Chester Warren Davis of Tecumseh, Oklahoma took his final breath.   For the record, he did not have COVID-19. He was tested several times leading up to his death.   Results always came back negative.   He was declining from on going health conditions.   He was 85 years of age.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Gertrude Estelle Guy, Ruth Alma Morse, and Dorothy May Waggoner.

He is survived by his four children Vicki Lynn Wakley of Oklahoma, Sharon Kay Harvel of Texas, Eddie Warren Davis of Oklahoma, and Linda G. Murphy of Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

There will not be a traditional viewing and services.   Instead, we hope you will reach out to mom directly to set up a time to visit with her and/or send condolences to: 205 W. Beech Street #7, Tecumseh, OK 74873.
