Clifton “Cliff” Exum passed away unexpectedly on January 3rd, 2023 in Edmond Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family. Cliff was born July 13th, 1949 in Jersey City New Jersey, but Florida was his home for most of his life. He traveled this beautiful country and beyond for many years as a ride owner and manager for the carnival. His passion for the industry blessed millions of Americans who attended their local fairs for more than 6 decades.
Cliff is survived by his father Gerald Exum, his siblings, his loving wife Sherri Exum, his daughter Racheal Brantley, 3 sons- CG Exum, Kyle Exum, and Kody Exum, 3 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 3 great-great-grandsons. He is preceded in death by his mother Herma Dean Exum.
Cliff was known to be easy going and an instant friend. He was the family chef and you never knew if the meal would be an intimate family dinner or a feast for dozens. He loved his family, a good cigar, and would entertain others for hours with a thousand different stories. Cliff professed to be a “jack of all trades, but a master of none,” although those who knew him best knew his abilities far exceeded his assertion. He leaves a legacy of family first thinking, incredible story telling, an open door philosophy, and a life of acceptance for everyone he encountered.
A memorial service is being planned for the future.
