Coach Keilty says
Heather I loved your son. It was a great honor to be his teacher and coach. God bless your family. This is dedicated to the memory of Colton!
AS WE SHED A HEAVY TEAR—
—WE WILL FEEL NO FEAR!!!
I remember as if it were yesteryear and yesterday,
When you started your life in our high school,
In the halls and rooms of Mount St. Mary,
The name Cox was indelible and engrained
with “ cooler than cool”.
Your brother Chris had a distinguished career,
And blazed a path of excellence and he paved a way,
For a young ,charming and charismatic Colton,
To continue making great our “Rocket Days”!
Which is exactly what Colton set out to do ,
As your wonderful Momma would drop you off in the early morn,
And your classmates all loved your rush of gregarious humor,
Your bright radiance and giant wits for all to adorn!
We enjoyed so much your laughter in a classroom,
We admired and were impressed by your toughness on the field ,
And in every step and turn you encountered,
Your core values you passionately revealed!
Honor , courage ,service and commitment,
Easily come with overwhelming pride upon my mind,
Always “making a difference in the lives of others”,
A real gentleman your Colton -was one of a kind and all the time!
That smile that could reflect the beauty of a rainbow,
Your soothing and calm approach on a tough Rocket day,
We could always depend on you for comfort and reassuring solace,
It was just your “indomitable winning spirited way.”
Your memory now will not ever fade,
You are now a special place in our soul,
Your sudden departure into God’s Kingdom,
May have broken our being whole with a sinking hole,
But your resolute spirit lives on our dear friend Colton,
And will always fill our heart space so near,
You will bring us all unflinching strength and courage,
And as we shed a heavy tear,
But alas we will feel no fear .
RIP Colton. RIP.

Colton was my student in a year where I was encountering a lot of difficulty. He always put a smile on my face and was an amazing friend to everyone. He may not have been an A+ student, but he worked hardest at what mattered most, which was showing love to others. It was a gift to have him in our lives and we are grateful to have known him.

Meghan Santella says
Heather, I never personally got to know Colton, but I felt like I did by the way his former teachers and Claire would talk of him with a smile on their faces every single time. Claire shared about him frequently – how he shared her heart for social justice and was an incredible brother and role model to her. I have been thinking of you all and sending my prayers. You raised some amazing, kind, and memorable children who have and continue to change the world and soften the hearts of others. All my love to you all.
Donna Nolan says
I don’t even have words Heather except I’m sorry. He was the epitome of cool without even trying. He was a champion of the underdog and a genuinely nice kid. I’m sure he has the angels dancing and laughing, but that doesn’t make it any easier for all who love him on earth. Godspeed Colton.
Johanna Dunkel says
He was the funniest kid ever, and he was the kind of funny where he didn’t even have to try, and he didn’t have to be mean to make people laugh. I got held back a year at Rosary so I got to be in his class for a year, and I’ve known him since kindergarten, he would come to our youth group at rosary, and always had a way of making a room light up. He knew how to man a group of people, and to make them smile. I hadn’t seen him in several years until about a month ago he reached out and told me that he hoped I was doing well and he was so proud of me for doing all the things I intended to do. I’m so proud of him, and I hope he knows that.
He will never be forgotten!🤍
Mandy Apple says
