David was born to Naomi and Ivan Gannon on February 22, 1951 in Enid, Okla. and passed from this life on September 10, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.

David was raised in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1969 and earned his bachelors degree in English Education from Northwestern in Alva, Okla., in 1973.

It was in Alva where he met the love of his life, Janice. They married in 1974 and moved to Enid where they raised their family.

David was a caring father to Suzanne (Gannon) Heppel and her husband Toby, Mary (Gannon) Brindle and her husband Matt, and Daniel Gannon.  He loved and was most proud to be Papa to his 10 grandchildren Danielle Gannon (17), MaKayla Gannon (16), Christian Heppel (15), Lola Gannon (13) Maggie and Catie Heppel (12), Luke and Eli Brindle (7), Brady Brindle (5), and Zeke Gannon (4).

David had a green thumb and a passion for plants.  The Gannon yard was always filled with various cacti, flowers, plants and anything else he could nurture and grow.

David and Janice spent their early years supporting their kids in various sports and activities throughout their years at Pioneer schools.  His love and commitment was later passed on when he became a proud Papa.  He loved more than anything to spend time with his grandkids.  He would proudly watch and support any activity they enjoyed.  From cheering in the stands at soccer games, sitting on the floor surrounded by legos, and making regular movie dates, David was the true definition of a doting father and grandfather.

David will be missed by his loving family.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and sisters- Kay Gamallo , Barbara Blevins, and Vicki Mednick.
