Donald Ralph Lavell Sr. passed away on December 7, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76. He was born on March 11, 1939 in Buffalo, New York to Ralph Lavell and Ruth (Myron).

I spent several years working with Don. Lots of smoke breaks discussing problems of the day. I always looked up to Don and had the upmost respect for him. I have thought about him frequently since our paths have gone different ways. He will be missed.

Donald was my best friend for over 30 years. I had the privilege of seeing him accept Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He will be missed by so many and his memory will live on. He was a huge attribute to the Oklahoma County Master Gardeners program, a member of The International Guild of Knot Tiers and a member of The Peanut Butter Lovers Club (he was so proud of that). Although I moved back home to Georgia, we kept in touch and I just moved back to Oklahoma and was going to surprise him on Christmas Day! Donald, you were loved and respected by many.
