Edith Marie Nice

Edith Marie Nice departed this world on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Fairfax Memorial Hospital. She was born to Clyde and Edith Nice on October 17, 1942. Edith’s life was one of courage and strength, facing the difficulties of cerebral palsy throughout her 74 years.
She was a very proud graduate of Kingfisher High School. She also completed correspondence courses in Bible study, typing, and tax preparation. One of her jobs was to complete her parents complicated farm tax returns for many years.

Even with only the use of one hand, Edith was a stellar needle worker. She cross-stitched pillows, baby blankets, and pictures. As with the many projects she took on, her perseverance was inspiring.

Edith delighted in her friends, her family, her faith and little children. Her prodigious memory was one of her astonishing abilities; she would routinely ask about someone from her past, remembering them in a very positive way.

Edith resided in Kingfisher, Oklahoma until the passing of her mother, when she became a resident of Fairfax, Oklahoma. With her outgoing personality, she made many new friends in her new community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Edith Nice. She is survived by her sister and brother in law, Luella and Reverend Monte Nabors of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her sister and brother in law, Dr. Carol and Dr. Joe Conner of Fairfax, Oklahoma her brother Clyde Nice of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and her brother and sister-in law Ray and Rose Nice of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She is also survived by a large extended family and many friends old and new.

A memorial service will be held at the Fairfax United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 29 at 2 p.m. Her ashes will be interred next to her parents in Kingfisher, Oklahoma on November 5.
