Gordon C. Arfsten

Gordon Arfsten, 88, of Oklahoma City passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

He was born in Windom, Minnesota on December 23, 1933. Gordon graduated in 1951 from Westbrook High School and attended The University of Minnesota, St Paul. Gordon also was a member of the United States Army prior to his studies. Gordon married his wife of 64 years, Jean Langenberger, at Peace Lutheran Church of St. Paul, Minnesota on December 28, 1957.

Gordon continued his career in industrial sales in Oklahoma City until his retirement in 1999.  Upon retirement, Gordon and Jean moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, then Burneyville, Oklahoma before returning to the Oklahoma City area. During his retirement Gordon ‘Gordy’ enjoyed spending his time playing cards, traveling, playing golf and volunteering at the local hospital.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Jean, of 64 years, his three children, Sandra and Howard Beaver of Oklahoma City, Debra Arfsten of Addison, Illinois and Bruce Arfsten of Addison, Texas.  Gordon had 3 granddaughters; Kristin and Jimmy Duggins of Owasso, OK, Kathy Beaver of Yukon, OK and Kimberly and Jacob Waterman also of Yukon, OK.  Gordon also had 7 great grandchildren, Blake (and Taylor), Benjamin, Blair, Kalea, Khloe, James and Mason.  

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Emma Arfsten and four brothers; Delbert, Dale, Earl and infant brother Glen.

Services will be Friday, August 19th, 2022, 10 a.m. at Crossings Community Church in the Church Pavilion, Oklahoma City.  Arrangements are under the care of Oklahoma City Cremation.
