Greg Andersen

Greg Andersen passed away at his home on Saturday, July 25, 2020.

He was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on May 9, 1953 to Col. Leslie E. and Mrs. Veronica B. Kelly Andersen.

Being born into an Air Force family, Greg travelled all over the U.S. in his formative years. He lived with his family in England prior to moving to Oklahoma in 1969. Greg completed high school at Mount Saint Mary’s in OKC and studied at Rose State College and also the University of Central Oklahoma. He was a singer, drummer, private investigator, bartender, lover of good music, books, fast cars, airplanes of all sorts, guns, hunting, good food, lively discussions on current events, and was voted OKC’s best Bartender by the OKC Gazette in 1992.  He lived a life full of adventure and was the life of the party no matter the location. Greg married his sweetheart of 12 years, Jeanette Koss, in 2016. Greg and Jeanette enjoyed traveling, concerts, cooking and were certified judges for the Steak Cookoff Association.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Col. Leslie and Veronica Andersen.

His surviving family includes brother Mark, OKC; sisters Lisa and her husband Dr. Dwight Moyer, OKC; Jane Andersen and her husband Mike Timpane of Berkeley, CA. Greg also leaves behind daughters Christi Benites (husband Rolando and grandsons Andrew, Christian and Michael); Jennifer Andersen (husband Tim and grandson Tre High), both of OKC; son, Graham (grandson Liam) of Moore, OK; and stepsons Michael Koss (wife Amanda and granddaughter Kalmia), OKC; Brian Koss  (partner Joseph) of Charlotte, NC. Greg also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

His zest for life will be missed by all who knew him. He would find peace knowing that he went out with his boots on and was never a burden.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 29th at 10:00 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 2400 W. Hefner Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
