Harry Hobart Murphy

Harry Hobart Murphy passed away on August 6, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 75.  He was born to Ben and Romalie Murphy on June 10, 1947.  Harry was the 3rd youngest of 10 children and is survived by his son Matt, daughter-in-law Alyssa and brothers Bill, Sid, and Dennis.

Harry, also known as “Rose Bud”, “Bud”, or “Hymie”, was stationed in Germany in the late 1960’s where he served in the US Army.  After returning to Oklahoma he attended journalism classes at Central State University, then managed a popular watering hole, “Hymie’s Bar”, before starting a long career as a highly revered carpenter.  Harry loved his friends, family, gardening, the Chicago Cubs, and the OU Sooners.

He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Harry will be honored in a celebration of life later this fall.
