Jake Weston Reid

Jake Weston Reid died on Sunday, October 1, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 4, 2004 in Arizona to his adoring parents Travis and Amy Reid, Jake was known for being big-hearted, compassionate and confident. His love for his family was clearly seen in his relationships with his two younger siblings. Jake was not only a big brother to Haley and Jax, he was also a confidant, best friend, coach and mentor. The first grandchild to Pam Browning, Phil Reid, David Thompson, and Francie Thompson, Jake brought joy and pride to each of his grandparents. He loved serving his community and did it well as a Blanchard Communications officer and former Blanchard Fire Fighter. He discovered his passions early in life and was pursuing his dream of fighting fires and protecting his community as a full-time career. Jake was witty, fun loving, and considerate of others. He had the ability and charisma to talk to anyone. His impact on his friends and family will be forever engrained in all who loved him. 

Jake is survived by his parents, Travis and Amy; his sister, Haley and brother, Jax; His maternal grandparents, David Thompson and Francie Thompson; his paternal grandparents, Phil and Judy Reid and Pam Browning; his aunts and uncles, Mike and Susie Melnick, Isaac and Abby Thompson, Belinda Troyer; and his cousins, Evan, Adeline, Logan, Ivy, Brooklyn and Mason. 

A memorial service for Jake will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard, OK. Gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 – 11:00am at the same location. The Blanchard Fire Department will be escorting him from OKC to his home on Wednesday.
