Jim Lewis, 60, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away at his residence on December 22, 2023. Born on October 21, 1963, in Casper, Wyoming, Jim was a proud Dad and he was lovingly known as "Grumpy" to his granddaughters. He had a kind and stern personality, always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
Jim had a passion for tinkering with guns and computers, as well as riding motorcycles and playing computer games. He was a proud founding father of "Wings of Life" and supported organizations such as the NRA and Relay for Life. Jim was a cancer survivor, demonstrating his strength and resilience.
Professionally, Jim served as a Captain at Ardmore Airpark Fire Department from 1991 to 1998. He then pursued a career as a Critical Care Paramedic at Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service (SOAS) from 1998 to 2004, dedicating himself to saving lives and providing essential care.
Jim leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his former wife of 26 years, Dalhia Lewis(Walker) of Springer, and his daughters, Rachel Wrany and her husband Alan of Greenville, Kimberly Phelps and her husband Maurice of Gene Autry, and Ashley Lewis and her significant other Scott Howard of Newalla. Jim was a proud grandfather to Kylie and Rebecca Phelps, as well as Wylee Howard. He is also survived by his brothers, Mitchell and Randy Lewis, both of Gene Autry. Jim had a special bond with the Van Zant family - James, Vickie, Casey, and Jessica - who were dear friends to him and his family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Patty Lewis.
A ceremony to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday, December 30th, 2023, at 11 AM at the Gene Autry Baptist Church.
Jim's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
