Jo Ann Woodrum Shinn

Jo Ann Woodrum Shinn went to be with her Lord on January 27, 2017. Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured her friendships and service at her church, was an immaculate homemaker and incredible cook, and a business owner. But Jo Ann would always remind you she loved her family more than anything. Jo Ann was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, on October 12, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents Guy & Viola Griffin Williams and Earl Woodrum, and her grandson, Clay Walker. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Shinn, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law Carla & Danny Daniels of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law Beverly & Gordon Walker, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law Jeralyn & Jeff Woodall of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law Jaymi & Nathan Ratzlaff of Mattawan, Michigan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kelcey & Bryant Upton and Spencer, Natalea & Carli; Whitney & Chase Daniels, and Brock, Brody & Brax; and Jaisa & Blake Daniels and Brandt, all of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; Dru & Brooks Walker, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Annie Walker, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Jordyn Snow, of Lexington, Oklahoma; and Katlyn, Broc & Aden Ratzlaff, all of Mattawan, Michigan.

 

Jo Ann was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Idabel,Oklahoma, where she was baptized and her hometown where she lived until 2011, when she moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a member of The Village Baptist Church after the move, and adored her friends and church family. Her family is grateful for the kind and compassionate care given by her oncologist, Dr. Christopher Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and from Delores with Mercy Hospice.

 

Memorial service: a celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at The Village Baptist Church. Interment: Idabel, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Village Baptist Church, 10600 N. May, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73120.
