Jonathan Mathew Phifer was born on February 27, 1997 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His parents, Maureen Laws and Eddie Phifer, reared Jonathan along with 8 of his brothers and sisters in the Oklahoma City area. Jonathan was a very good student who obtained a Vo-Tech degree for 3-D modeling and was a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. After high school Jonathan moved in with his big sister, Susan Marie, and worked diligently at Home Depot. After saving enough money, he decided to relax and take life just one day at a time. He loved playing video games, listening to alternative music, and staying on top of current events. After moving back in with his parents, Jonathan took his “relaxation mode” to an entirely other level, as he could regularly be seen slowly strolling through the house at all times of the day and night in his loose-fitting pajamas and house shoes that were 2-3 sizes too big. He firmly believed that all foods were better with a couple of shots of hot sauce and that the only beverage actually worth drinking was Dr. Pepper.
He will be deeply missed by his parents. He will also be missed by his older brother Eddie Schultz and wife Kelly (Texas), Older sister Lauren Lynn-Love (Texas), Big brother Josef and Miles (Norman), Big sister Susie and husband Alec (OKC), Little brother Nicholas (OKC), Little sisters Linda and Jordan of the home, as well as his Grandparents Don and Carol Laws (Pappy and Nana), and his Omi Gisela Phifer. He has been and continues to be loved by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other friends and family in Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Maryland, and Germany.
A memorial service for Jon will be held at the Chapel of Oklahoma City Cremation, 10 O’Clock in the morning Saturday, November 24, 2018.
807 West Wilshire Boulevard, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.

I just found about about your loss of Jonathan. My heart hurts for all of the Phifer family. Watching the video brought back sweet memories of Jonathan as a precious little boy. I know that no words can take away your pain, but I hope that you at least know that his Western Oaks family loved Jonathan and remember him fondly. Love and prayers for you in the coming days ahead. Dear Phifer family, I just heard the tragic news of Jonathan’s death. I am so deeply sorry. My first memory of Jonathan, besides when he came up to school as a toddler, was having him in first grade summer school. He was a precious boy, but a little tentative about coming to summer school, however, when we found out we shared the same birthday, we became fast friends. My heart is with you during these very difficult days. I will always remember him as my “birthday buddy.” Love and prayers. Laura (Bracklein) Ivy – Western Oaks Elementary
