In Loving Memory of Jose Coronado Jr.

Jose Coronado Jr., age 65, passed away in late October 2024 in Oklahoma City. Born in Texas, but spent his life between the states he loved (Ohio, Oklahoma, & California) Joe was a proud Marine who served his country with strength, charm and no doubt his attitude to get it done. Though he rarely spoke of his military service, his resilience and character spoke volumes about his dedication throughout his life. Joe was a true handyman, always ready to fix anything that needed fixing or even modification. His motto, “Coronado Does It All,” perfectly summed up his remarkable ability to tackle any task, no matter how big or small. There wasn’t a tool that he didn’t have, or nothing he couldn’t do. Even if it meant solving any broken thing with a roll of duct tape. In retrospect, there wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve, and he was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. He lived by the internal principle that helping others was more important than helping himself.

A loving dad and grandfather, Joe is survived by his three children: Salina, Noami, and Erica, as well as his three grandchildren, ages 10, 8, and 5. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, including his mother and six sisters, all of whom loved him dearly.

Joe’s personality was larger than life. Known for his long ponytail, bandanna, his loud, unmistakable voice, and sense in style, he was a man who never hesitated to speak his mind often with a colorful word or two. Actually many haha. His favorite word was undoubtedly the F-word, which became part of his unique charm. While his voice could fill a room, those who knew him understood that it was simply his way of making sure he was heard. Man, could he cook. He loved to cook, and there was nothing more joyful for him than preparing a meal and watching others enjoy it. The happiness he found in sharing his food with others will forever be remembered by those lucky enough to taste it. His laughter, wrath, life lessons, choice of words, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Services will be held in Visalia, California, in early spring 2025. The family invites anyone with stories or memories of Joe to please leave a message below. Your memories and love will be cherished in his honor.

Joe will always be remembered as a man who could fix anything, loved his one and only true love: our mother Olga. And who never hesitated to speak his mind in a way he saw fit. “They just don’t make’em like that any more.” His legacy will live on through his family, his friends, and the countless lives he touched.
