Joseph Patrick Kearns (64) born Sept. 25, 1956 in Newport, Rhode Island, to Joseph and Patricia Kearns (Muldowney) passed away April 28, 2021 at the Oklahoma City V.A. Hospital. Joseph was predeceased by both parents and both brothers, John and Thomas. He is survived by three sisters, Christine, Elaine and Gabriella. Joseph served proudly in the US Army. As a civilian, he worked as a family and youth counselor at Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. He received a bachelor’s degree from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Joseph had many hobbies, including raising zebra finches and growing beautiful flowers outside his apartment at Berrywood Apartments in Del City, OK. The thing he loved most in life was being with and around other people. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Del City, OK. Gravesite services will be held at St. Martin’s Cemetery SE74th St, Midwest City, OK., on May 7th at 1:30pm. Fr. Joseph Sundar Raju Pudota officiating.

On behalf of the membership of the Catholic War Veterans of the Oklahoma Memorial Post #168, we want to offer our deepest sympathies for the loss of Joe from this life. He was one of the founding members of the Post when it was established in 2009. We honor his commitment to God, his country, and for the work he did helping others in civilian life. We appreciate all of the devoted care and friendship he received from his dear friend, Rhonda Mann. We pray for the repose of his soul and offer our emotional support to Rhonda and Joe’s family.
