Kathryn J. Phillips

Kathryn J. Phillips nicknamed “SilverLady” passed peacefully with all her children present on November 8th, 2017, she was 75 years old. Born the fourth child to Hertha and Julius Lerke in Benton Harbor, Michigan on 15 June 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Hertha Lerke and nieces Julie Stambaugh and Debbie Marks. Survivors include daughters Robin Weakley and husband Rick Weakley, Heidi Dauria and husband John Dauria; sons Brick and Dean Phillips; grandsons, Stone and his wife Ona, Coal, and Brock Phillips; brother, Bob Lerke and wife Dianna Lerke; sisters, Marion Stambaugh and husband Gene Stambaugh, Betty Marks and husband Larry Marks, and Diana Dubman and husband Allen Dubman; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kathryn graduated Benton Harbor High School in Benton Harbor Michigan, when she was young she enjoyed summers at Jean Klock Park and Rocky Gap and she worked as a waitress most of her life. She loved gambling and having fun. She moved to Florida in the 1990’s and lived in the Florida Keys for a while enjoying the beaches and the sun. Later she settled in Deerfield Beach and worked as a licensed Realtor. Her years of retirement have been spent in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She loved her family dearly and was known to all the grandbabies as “Mema”. Family memorial ceremony will be held for close family members. Consistent with her wishes she will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered along the beach of Lake Michigan, she would ask you all to raise a glass and toast in celebration of her life and the memories, but do not shed a tear, she lived a full and happy life with no regrets.
