Kenneth Leon Wood II, age 54, passed from this life unexpectedly in his home on Friday, November 15, 2019. “Kenny” was born December 20, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Susan Wood. Kenny grew up in Del City, Oklahoma and graduated from Del City High School, class of 1983. Upon graduation, Kenny knew he wanted to become an attorney and started his college path in Stillwater, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State University. Eventually, Kenny transferred to and graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1989. In 1993, Kenny graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Juris Doctorate Degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.
Growing up, Kenny loved motorcycles, guns, basketball, baseball, football and especially music, even teaching himself to play the guitar. As an adult he remained passionate about music, golf, making people laugh, helping others and most importantly, his dogs , who were extremely important to him.
Kenny is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Lola “Vi” Fisher and paternal grandparents Jay and Bernice Wood, and his ”fur children” Gunny and Bogey.
Kenny is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Susan Wood, his sister, Kerri (Wood) Hoffman and her husband Chris, his nieces, Ryleigh Meier and Hannah Hoffman and nephew Ryan Hoffman as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles, and “Gizzy” his beloved dog. He is also survived by a great group of friends that were like family at CompSource Mutual Insurance Company.
A celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church at 222 N.W. 15th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the American Diabetes Association at Diabetes.org.
