Lawrence Dale Eakins

Lawrence Dale Eakins, 78, passed away April 13, 2016, at Deaconess Hospital with family by his side. He was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Bethany, Oklahoma to Harold & Josephine Nadine (Wellner) Eakins. He grew up on land homesteaded by his Grandpa Wellner in the land run of 1889 (in the area now known as Warr Acres, Oklahoma). He attended Putnam City High School and served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967.  He was a carpenter by trade and worked building homes. He was preceded in death by his parents; younger sister, Nadine Willey; and brother, Robert Eakins. He is survived by his brother, Melvin Eakins and wife Tina; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Maranatha Baptist Church located at 2800 N. Divis Avenue in Bethany, Oklahoma.
