Lilly Grace Bowen, 17 years young, survived by her loving parents, Jason and Sarah, her devoted big brother Jason, best friend and cousin Kennedy, half-siblings and mother, and more cousins, aunts, uncles, and her grandparents, Carol and Bert and Joanna and Robert. She was predeceased by her grandfather Thomas Edwards, Jr.
Lilly loved many things. She was an artist and loved to paint abstract pictures for her friends. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She loved animals and will be missed by her cats, Ping-a-Ling and Luna and her rescue puppy, Fiona. In her short years she treasured rats, hamsters, hermit crabs, and Guinea pigs. They all recognized her generous compassion, even the rats.
Our memories of Lilly will live forever. We will think of her when we see oversized sweaters and hoodies that she loved to wear, fuzzy socks that never matched, Christmas lights that hung in her room year round, and the beautiful blue sky that matched her eyes.
We know she is in heaven with her grandpa, her granny, her uncle, and all the other’s who loved her. She has left the pain of this world and is at joyful peace with them. We will mourn the loss of her physical presence in our lives, her smile, her songs, her hugs, but we will look forward to the day when we can touch her face again.
We are waiting to celebrate Lilly’s life on her 18th birthday, December 27, 2020, at which time we will contact family and friends to join us. Never go a day without telling your babies they are loved.

Carol, I know the love you poured into Lilly. I can recall all the beautiful stories you would share about her. I know you will miss her a great deal. Please take solace in knowing to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and we know Lilly is resting in the arms of the Lord. I will be praying for strength for you and Sarah and the entire family as you adjust to your loss.

Carol,
I’m a bit behind on things, and I just want to say that God is there with her now. As the above states “She has left the pain of this world and is at joyful peace.” I’m sure that she will be singing, laughing, dancing in her hoodie & fuzzy socks in your minds’ eye in Heaven. The pain of loss is hard enough when you know the loved one has had a life time to live, but when taken so early, so much harder to grieve.
Think on these things … the world is not a pretty place anymore. There is so much hate & ugliness. Corruption, drugs, violence, anger, hatred, and the list goes on. So many will see the things that are to come. Lilly will not have to bear up that ugliness in life. She is so joyous now! And in the blink of an eye, we will all be there as well. So remember that the day will come. We pray soon, and very soon, that some of us will meet her and get to know her sweet spirit while others get to see her again rejoicing in the homecoming! God bless. Prayers for you/your family.

We send you our love and heartfelt prayers that you may find the strength you need to navigate the days, weeks and months ahead. Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us always. I am so sorry for your loss. I was a friend of Lilly during my freshman year and she was a sophomore. I met her second semester in our personal financial literacy class and became friends by the third day. She was very sweet and didn’t ever let me feel left out or alone when I had no one. She was always there for me and was just an amazing friend. Just such an amazing, sweet girl who was so hilarious and very unique in ever single way and didn’t care what others thought. I admired her kindness and thoughtfulness very much. My heart goes out to you and your family. Take care💚

Sarah and Jason, family and friends; our heart is so heavy with sadness that Lilly is not enjoying she life she might have had. We are trying to appreciate that she is in a place of peace and happiness. Nothing I can say would help you through this grieving. I know one that can though, Jesus Christ. May your love for Lilly and for each other be strengthened with the peace of understanding. There are scriptures that help me. I pray that God will surround you with love.
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

I’m so sorry for your loss. Lilly was a student in my art class her Freshman year. We had many conversations about art, movies, and music. Lilly was an amazing artist yet very humble about it. I am grateful that I knew Lilly. She will always be one of many fond memories I have from Moore High.

My heart hurts for all of you. Lilly was good Friends with my son, Jacob. Lilly was at our house or Jacob was at hers for several years.
Lilly was always so very kind to me. She wasn’t like other teens that come over and hide from the parents. Lilly would make it a point to come say hi to me. Anytime I saw her out in public she did the same. I will never forget her kind spirit and bubbly smile. She was a beautiful soul.
This is a hard loss for all that knew her.
It brings me comfort knowing that one day we will all be reunited with this precious baby girl.
Keeping all of you in my prayers for the coming days ahead.
