Lynna (Coley) Thompson, of Norman, passed away on June 9, 2024, at the age of 72 at her home. Lynna was born on June 16, 1951, in Oklahoma City to Oren Dee and Helen (Evanoff) Coley. Raised in Norman, she graduated from Norman High School in 1969. Following her graduation, Lynna moved to New York to attend Wells College before transferring to OU, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She spent many years in Houston, TX, working as an accountant for various oil corporations, including Phillips. After becoming a grandmother, Lynna returned to Norman permanently to be closer to her family. She worked at Will Rogers World Airport for seventeen years, where she formed numerous friendships.
Lynna was deeply devoted to her family and friends. Known for her generosity and selflessness, she always prioritized others' needs above her own. She enjoyed watching TV, movies, concerts, listening to Elvis, and spending time with loved ones. She will be dearly missed.
Lynna is survived by her son, Chris Hanna; granddaughters Lauren Hall and her husband Dylan, and Madison Hanna; grandson Christian Hanna; sisters Karen Whinery and her husband Lee, and Dorla Fudge and her husband Don; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends Cathy (Donaghe) Hogg, Sandy (Waller) Davis, Kay (Cline) Sims, and Sheryl Malone.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Coley.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 15th at noon at the LDS church in Norman, located at 1506 W Imhoff Rd, Norman, OK 73072.
