Margaret Brady May

Margaret Brady May was born on June 11,1916 to Hugh and Lillian Brady in Madill, OK. She grew up in Ardmore, OK, as the 4th of 5 children. She graduated from OU where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. During and after WW II, Margaret worked at Phillips Petroleum where she met Warren S. “Bud” May, who she was married to for 57 years until his passing in 2003. She spent most of her working career at USF&G insurance co. where she retired. She was an avid reader, bridge player, active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for 60+ yrs., and an active member of Al-Anon for 50+yrs where she found peace and helped others do the same. Her favorite advice: “Worrying is a sin. Just do something. You must have faith in God”. Always a celebrated member of May and Kempf family gatherings, known for her wit, wisdom and sense of fun. Margaret is survived by her daughter Kathy Kempf, husband Fred Kempf, grandchildren Parker Kempf and Martin Kempf of OKC, and Whitney Kempf Coble and husband Jeff Coble, of Dallas, TX, great grandchildren Connor & Cora Kempf and Margaret May Coble. Nieces/Nephews: Sally Graef, Eddie Brady, Ann Gaines, Carleen McClugg, Pat Rief, Charles, Hugh, & James Brady. Preceded in death by her husband, Bud, 3 sons, Steve, Pat & Mike May, and her 4 siblings, Phillip Brady, Bernard Brady, Kathleen Baird, & Jim Brady. Margaret had a great sense of humor & loved her family and new experiences. She will be missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thurs., Oct. 18, 2018 @ 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 2121 N. Portland, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73147, (405) 946-4441 Website: http://www.stpatrickokc.org. In lieu of flowers, she preferred that donations be made to her Church.
