Margaret (Pamela) Oxendine was the youngest child born to Annie Abel and James Cole, on March 21st, 1939 in Manchester, England. She went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Thursday, Dec 18th, 2018.
Margaret was proceeded in death by her late husband Donald Oxendine formally of Richmond, Indiana, her sister Madeline Maxwell formally of Alexandria, La. , her parents, sister Patience Parker, and brother William Cole Johnson, all formally of Manchester, England.
On Dec 7th, 1956 in Manchester, England Margaret married Willie W. Curry Sr, an Air Force airman from New Orleans, Louisiana. The couple welcomed their first child in March of 1958 and by June of that same year, the family was transferred to the United States. While stationed in America, the couple settled into life at Altus AFB, Oklahoma, where they welcomed three more children.
Margaret loved Meeting people and learning all about their different ways of life. She often made friends with people from all walks of life and encouraged her friends and children to do the same. She loved her family and always memorialized them with photos. She was an animal lover and throughout her life she rescued countless dogs, as they were her favorite domestic pets.
On October 20th 1985 in Richmond, Indiana Margaret married her second husband Donald Oxendine, The couple enjoyed a comfortable life, living in the Midwest until his death in 1988.
Sewing, Cooking, and entertaining family and friends were favorite pastimes that Margaret enjoyed. She loved the Arts, mainly music and cinema, but also enjoyed TV Specials of all kind. She was very intuitive and a great story teller, and would often entertain her children with amazing stories. She was a no nonsense disciplinarian, who had a sensitive side and could also be quite humorous.
Margaret had natural talents; she was an awesome seamstress and could draw quite well considering she had no specialized training. She loved to decorate and cooking was one of her specialties.
She would prepare a huge spread at every family gathering, even if she were asked to bring only one dish.
She is survived by her four children; Willie W Curry Jr. (Victoria) of Niceville, Florida, Maxine Linda Hudson (Gene), Wendall C. Curry (Deirdre), both of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Lance D. Curry (Umekki) of Washington, DC, her Ex-husband Willie W Curry Sr., of Alexandria, La, 11 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves her aunt Ruby Anderson of Wichita, Kansas, her aunt Gwendolyn Tate, sister Josephine Hughes, and brother Rudolph Cole Johnson all of Manchester, England.
