Marge Washam, beloved mother, wife and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 26th, 1945 in St Louis, Missouri to Margaret Ophelia Pinson McFarland and Jasper Forrest McFarland. She is survived by her two children, Stephanie Schneider Clason and Eric Schneider whom she adored and nurtured throughout her life. She met and married William Washam III in 1978, and together they created M & W Wallpaper, starting with providing wallpapering services for apartment complexes, then growing into a very successful wallpaper and home décor store in Oklahoma City. She finished her career in home decor at Mungers Paint and Wallpaper, working all the way to the age of 77. She has 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild whom she loved fiercely. She attended plays, musicals, and sports events for them over the years and everyone knew how proud she was of them.
Her loving husband preceded her in death, as well as her three brothers Denny, Terry and Forrest McFarland. Lorraine McFarland Movitz and Kathleen McFarland Wirtz are her two surviving sisters. She loved to travel and visited places such as Italy, Mexico, Amsterdam, Germany, and many more! Marge will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She was the matriarch of our family and was always available to lend a helping hand. Her legacy of compassion and strength will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.
Flower deliveries can be made to Chapel at Oklahoma City Cremation 807 W Wilshire BLVD Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.
If you would like to make a donation in Marge's memory in lieu of flowers to help the fight against ovarian cancer, her family suggests two options: Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, a highly rated national charity, and/or Mercy Coletta Cancer Center in Oklahoma City. Marge's sister, Kathy, is also fighting ovarian cancer, so your donation will mean a lot to her family.
