Michael Patrick McClellan, Daddy to Margot and special friend to so many, died on August 21, 2022.  He spent his early years in Stillwater playing Ninja Turtles with his brother Morgan, skateboarding, and quickly made a name for himself as being the “funniest guy ever”.

If asked to describe Mike, most would begin by mentioning his intelligence, his unrelenting sense of humor, or his loving heart.  He formed special relationships with almost everyone he met.  He was wise beyond his years, and his personal struggles gave him the ability to empathize with others while offering advice. Once Mike was your friend, he was loyal to the extreme and would give you the shirt off his back, even though the sleeves would be cut off.  

In 2014, Mike got the best gift he could ever receive, his daughter Margot.  If there were ever two peas in a pod, it was these two.  They did the “Banana dance”, built forts, went roller skating and hover boarding, played video games, made artwork and just shared special times. He loved creating memories with her by taking her to special places, including Disney World (2 times), Disneyland and Universal studios.  They even wore matching Disney shirts.  Mike and Margothad just returned from a trip to Colorado where they proudly ate donuts on the top of Pikes Peak.  Besides being Margot’s Dad and a friend and confidant to many, he also enjoyed skateboarding, playing the guitar, and singing his own songs.  He was a proud collector of shoes, devoured books and loved old country western music, riding 4 wheelers and motorcycles.  He was also a very hard worker and talented carpenter.

He fiercely loved his parents and family and spent time with them whenever possible.  His mother liked to say his heart was too big for his chest, and he wore his heart on his sleeve.  And while we all miss him, and the joy he brought to our lives, his family can’t imagine life without his spark, wit and energy.  

The people left with big holes in their hearts are his beautiful daughter Margot, his mother Kristi Brown and 2nd Dad Hershel Brown, his Dad Clint McClellan, and brothers Morgan McClellan and fiancé Casey Goodwin, and Markus McClellan.  His light shone much too bright for this world but our memories of him will never dim.
