Mildred Annette Barragree, born in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma to Carl & Mildred Shoemaker on March 5, 1948. She lived for many years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and left to meet her maker on April 24, 2015 at the age of 67. Annette retired from the State of Oklahoma with many special friends. Annette’s hobby was simply serving the Lord. She was full of grace and one of His very best soldiers. She was bound to her home for many years due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis – but lived vicariously through her friends and family. She loved to see them coming and was saddened to see them go. She will be missed terribly by many – but now lives with her Heavenly Father, pain free.
She is preceded in death by her aforementioned parents, her brothers Carl and Gary Shoemaker, and her sister, Glenda Hardin. She is survived in death by her brothers Donald and Roger Shoemaker and her sisters, Helen DeBusk, Peggy Prochaska, and Sue Patterson. She has many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her three children, Kristal (and husband Russell) Gaines of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Brian Ring of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Michelle Ring of Melbourne, Arkansas. Three grandchildren, Dustin (and wife Elizabeth) Gaines, Ashlee Gaines, and Chandler Holt. Two great grandchildren, Maverick and Marshall Gaines and one great-grandson due to arrive in August.
A private family memorial service will be held in Piedmont, Oklahoma. The family will receive visitors in the home of Kristal Gaines @ 615 Azalea NW (Aka Waterloo Road and Piedmont Road, 1/4 mile west, entrance is just west of the bridge on the north side, second house on private drive), Piedmont, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 3rd from 2-5 pm. Annette’s family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations are made in her honor to further the research of Multiple Sclerosis.
