After the service he worked at OG&E as a turbine mechanic until he retired in 1985. After retirement he started Wiegert Landscaping with 2 of his children and continued mowing for 20 more years.

Traveling, watching the birds around his house and spending whatever time he could with his kids and grandkids kept Papaw busy in his later years.

The Halvorson Family says
My heart hurts for your family-
Your father was one of the most generous men I have ever met. He was always lending a hand to me in my time of need.
Your father was an extremely caring and kind man. I know that no matter where you are, he will always be watching over you.
When I was off on Fridays Mr. Wiegert, (I always called him) Jennifer and I would go meet for Breakfast at Steakhouse, sit and catch up or gossip about what was happening in my life. He would give me advice on how to handle the situation. He was so much more than a friend, he was like a father and extended grandfather to me and my kids. I am so ever grateful for having him in my life, Thank you Eugena for sharing him, With us.
So many memories with Eugena and Wayne- taking my kids to all basketball playoff games, when I could not attend due to working nights.
Going to Norman- stopping at Burger King and your Dad getting on the speaker asking if they were still open after one of the games.
He was a character, loving man. I will truly miss a great man.
There will never be another man quite like him and his memory will live on forever.
Let the memories of your father provide you with comfort.
A father’s guiding hand always sits on the shoulder of his children.
Thank you again for sharing this great man with us!
We love you guys.
Lorri, Jennifer, Courtney, and JD
