Peter Fredrick Bjorlie

Peter Fredrick Bjorlie, age 69, passed away on November 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

Peter was born in Valley City, North Dakota on November 25, 1952. He was the eldest of 5 children born to Elmer Bjorlie and Liv Halvorson. He graduated from Valley City High School and continued his education at the University of North Dakota where he received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Geology. He married his wife Kathryn (Hughes) on December 7, 1974, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. His career moved him and his family to Texas, Colorado and finally Oklahoma. He received his MBA from Oklahoma City University in 1996. Peter had a fulfilling career as a Geologist for 40+ years.

Peter was a proud Norwegian, an avid reader of Scandinavian literature, a lover of the arts and British television shows. He loved to fish, snow ski and garden; but most of all he loved spending time with his family. His children, grandchildren and vacationing with his wife brought him so much joy. Peter is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Kathryn, his children:  Sandie (Bryan) Rinder, Jeremy, Kristina (Kevin) Fischer, and his 7 grandchildren:  Lauren, Cody, Maggie, Isaac, Ava, Konnor and Kamden.

A memorial service will be held at:

Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel and Mausoleum at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery

November 19th at 12:00PM
