Richard Eugene Dial was born in 1948 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Richard and his siblings grew up in a children’s home located in Tipton, Oklahoma. Richard enlisted in the Navy as soon as he was able and served four years on ships like the USS Bigelow and USS Lowry. Upon discharge from the military, he became a policeman in Aspen, Colorado and later in Amarillo, Texas where he met his bride, Doris Marie Walker.

Richard and Doris married July 3rd, 1977, and soon after, he joined her business in children’s clothing and furniture. Richard and Doris adopted their first child, Shannon, in 1980, adopted their second child Blake in 1983 and had Brittany biologically in 1985. Richard furthered his career in retail, working over the next several decades for companies like Best Products, Office Depot, Mars Music, and Babies R’ Us. Richard’s work took the family from Texas cities of Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Waco, and Beaumont. Then onto Tulsa Oklahoma, Atlanta Georgia, New Mexico, California and then finally back to Oklahoma. At his time of death, Richard resided in Ada, Oklahoma and worked for the Chickasaw Nation Department of Transportation.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Doris and his son Blake. He is survived by his daughter Shannon Dial, his daughter Brittany Revel and her husband J.T. Revel, his brother James Hiltbrunner and his wife Debra and their three children Heath and wife Nicole, Chad, and Haley Morris and husband Joseph, his brother Phillip Dial, and Phillip’s two children Daye and Joey, and six great nieces and one great nephew. 

Richard will be cremated and memorialized at a private family service in Azle, Tx later this month.
