Rita M. Toppa Busch

Rita M. Toppa Busch was born on July 14, 1926, in Newport, Rhode Island, to Bertha and Anthony Toppa. She left this earth for heaven on October 15, 2020.

Rita married William “Bill” Sims Busch, the love of her life, on July 13, 1949. Their marriage lasted 60 years until his death in 2009.
Rita was an exceptionally talented and accomplished artist and sculptor. She held many positions in the art clubs she belonged to over the years and volunteered for the Junior Art Show at the State Fair of Oklahoma.
Those that knew Rita well know that she was independent and outspoken, never making apologies for it. She loved her family and to travel “back east” to her beloved Rhode Island and Cape Cod whenever possible. She was a proud Yankee until the day she passed.

Rita is survived by her son, Geoffrey Busch; daughter, Kathleen Busch Seay, and son-in-law, Steve Seay; grandson, Jason Seay and his wife, Nichole Seay; great-grandchildren, Jacob Seay and Faith Seay; and brother, Anthony Toppa and his wife Connie.

The family wishes to thank Valir Hospice for their compassionate care of Rita during her last few months.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
