Robert Kilpen (Bob, Poppi, Bob-O) Spencer, 67, passed away September 29, 2021, in Edmond, Oklahoma. The family will host a celebration of Bob’s life at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 25th, 2021, at Life Church, 2001 NW 178th Street, Edmond, Oklahoma. You may also attend virtually on Facebook Live at Bob Spencer’s Facebook page.
Bob was born February 17, 1954 at Washington D.C. to William Spencer and Harriett Camp Spencer. Bob was raised in Leesburg, Virginia, and graduated high school at Loudon County High, Leesburg, Virginia. He attended college at Radford University for one year and completed his degree online while in the Navy. Bob married Cathy Boswell, his high school sweetheart. Bob and Kathy had three children, Jessi Lee Spencer, Ryan Boswell Spencer and Lindsey Rayne Spencer. He joined the Navy in 1983 and spent eight years serving his country, most of which was in Key West, Florida. After the Navy, Bob returned to his hometown, Leesburg, and began his lifelong career with the FAA. He was transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and lived there a few years before making his home in Oklahoma in 1996. Bob married Terri Stamper in 2000, adding to his family Terri’s two daughters, Jessica Green and Ashley Tatum. Bob retired from the FAA in 2012 and was able to fulfill his dream of traveling the country in his beautiful motor home.
Bob would want to be remembered as a great husband, loving father, grandfather and friend, dedicated Veteran of the US Navy, a jokester, amazing cook/baker, (we all loved his cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls), traveler and fun-loving man. Bob had a passion for traveling. As many of you know, Bob spent the last eight years traveling the United States and seeing and experiencing myriad things that many of us can only imagine and dream. Bob and Terri went to great efforts to see any family and friends near where their travels took them. They often found out-of-the-way, interesting places and enjoyed exploring. It was so special that they took many of their grandchildren one-on-one with them on their adventures.
Bob is survived by his wife, Terri, daughter, Jessi and husband, Chris, son, Ryan, daughter, Lindsey, daughters, Jessica and Ashley and husband, Jordan. He adored his 11 grandchildren: Marley, Evan, Zeke, Tyler, Cylus, Rylee, Elijah, Aliyah, Lakota, Josiah, Isaiah. Also survived by his sister, Harriett (Beanie) Simpson, her husband, Ted Simpson, and their three children, Mark, Tom and Kim; and nephew, Todd Spencer, and a host of other family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harriett Camp Spencer and William Spencer; brother, William Spencer, Jr., nephew, Scotty Spencer.
Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://www.dav.org or https://www.wondedwarriorproject.org/donate, as Bob was very fond of these organizations.

Sorry we lost contact after Bob went to Radford. His brother Bill and I were very close growing up, and little “Bobby” would usually tag along.
