Roberta Marie Robertson 7/1/1946 – 3/5/2021 Roberta was born in Evanston, IL to Robert (Bob) W. Evans and G. Marie (Whitters) Evans. Her family lived in various places in Illinois until age 11 when they moved to Brazil, In. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1964. The next few years saw her living in Chicago, San Francisco & Indianapolis. It was in Indianapolis where she met the father of her children, John Robertson.
In August of 1970 Roberta married John Robertson and had 3 children, John C (Jack), Timothy G. (Tim) and Amanda I. As John was in the Air Force, they moved throughout the country until 1983 when they moved to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. When she divorced, Roberta chose to stay in Oklahoma so her children wouldn’t have to move again. A decision which led to living in Oklahoma for nearly 40 years.
If you knew Roberta you knew that she loved Jesus and going to church was a normal part of her life. She did not own a Bible that was not well used and she loved reading the book of John. Roberta loved her children above all else and would do whatever she could for them. One of her biggest joys in life was her grandchildren and she loved spending time with them. She had a huge heart and if you were her friend, she was always your biggest supporter and cheerleader. Roberta was also an artist who specialized in color pencil portraits. In an effort to better support her kids, Roberta went back to college in her 40s. She graduated from UCO in 1992 with honors. Roberta worked for the State of Oklahoma and retired in 2015.
Roberta is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert (Bob) & Marie Evans. She is survived by her Son, John (Jack) & Heather Robertson of Midwest City, OK, his children Mysti Robertson, SrA Duncan Robertson & Emily Robertson. Son, Timothy (Tim) Robertson of Jones, OK. Daughter, Amanda (Robertson) & Larry Clayton of Piedmont, Ok, her children Lawrence, John, Mallory & Matthew Clayton. She is also survived by sisters Maggie (Evans) Sanders of Brazil, IN, Laura (Evans) Wilkey of Terra Haute, IN, brothers Gordon Evans of San Diego, CA & William (Bill) Evans of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by a plethora of nieces and nephews spread throughout the US all of whom she loved dearly.
Services will be held at Freedom Church 591 Edmond Road, Piedmont, OK 73078 on Saturday March 20th at 3 PM and officiated by Pastor Craig Eidson. Funeral Services provided by Oklahoma City Cremation
