RONALD DEAN VAUGHN
August 2, 1955 – October 26, 2022
Ronald Dean Vaughn ‘Buddy‘ of Enid, Oklahoma passed October 26th, 2022 at the age of 67. Buddy was born August 2nd, 1955 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. His family moved to Oklahoma when he was about two years old, where he spent most of his life. He grew up hunting, fishing, riding mini bikes & motorcycles, and watching old westerns.
Buddy entered the United States Army in 1976 where he proudly served his country. He was stationed at Ft Sill and St Louis, Mo. After receiving an honorable discharge from the service, he came home to Oklahoma and found his passion for horses and became a licensed Trainer. He traveled to race tracks all over the country to train quarter horses. He was known to many for his knowledge and the special bond he had with the horses. Buddy met a beautiful girl named Marilyn while Training horses, “the love of his life”. She loved the horses as much as he did. She had the talent and knowledge of what it took to care for them. Buddy and Marilyn married and had two sons, Jesse and Little Buddy. They meant the world to Buddy. Buddy also was a story teller. He could capture an audience and they would lean in waiting for the punch line. You never knew when having a conversation with him just when he was going to throw in a zinger. If you were around Buddy you were prepared to laugh. His wit preceded him. And, his big loving heart led the way.
Buddy was very close to his siblings, his sister, Donna, and his two brothers, Butch and David. He loved them, and they loved Buddy. When the four of them were together, oh the storys they would tell. They grew up together and stayed close. He will be so dearly missed…….Buddy was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mettie Sue Dearman, his youngest sister, Belinda Dearman, his father J. L. Gosh I loved this guy. Wish I had stayed more involved during the years. There’s nothing like cousins as children. We had so much fun, I could tell so many stories. We were so much of each other’s lives when we were young. Buddy was such a great guy… We get so busy with our lives sometimes that we forget what’s important…. He was very special to me…
