Ryan Paul Begnaud, 18, passed away tragically in a car accident in Stillwater, Oklahoma on October 15, 2022. Ryan came into this world on March 10, 2004 in Houston, Texas. He attended The Parish School and Yorkshire Academy, then moved with his family to Austin where he attended River Ridge Elementary and Canyon Ridge Middle School. Ryan attended Vandegrift High School freshman year and graduated from Hyde Park High School in May 2022. Ryan started at Oklahoma State University this fall, studying Business Marketing and Sports Management. He was brilliant without even trying and became a positive leader in many areas. He was a loyal friend and made everyone feel welcome. Basketball was Ryan’s one true passion. He was a humble teammate, always encouraging others to excel. In the two short months at OSU, he had such a positive impact on so many people. Ryan’s amazing smile, contagious laughter, bright light and kind heart will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his parents, Kris and Bailey Begnaud; siblings, Lauren and Patrick; brother-in-law, Garrett McNutt; grandparents, Ronald and Kathleen Begnaud; uncles, Kevin Begnaud and Dave Riddle; cousin, Danielle Begnaud; aunt and uncle, Patricia and Alan Thomas; cousins, Sarah, William and Owen Thomas. He will be missed by his faithful dogs, Leighton and Dayton.
He was preceded in death by grandmother, Suzanne Goetter and cousin, Ralston Begnaud.
A Funeral Mass will be held on October 28, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Austin. A Celebration of Life will follow at The University of Texas Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The Carson Cummings Foundation where the family will establish the Ryan Paul Begnaud Scholarship Fund. Please mail checks to P.O.
