Sherry Ann Wood

Sherry Wood, cherished mother, granny, sister, cousin, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 24, 2024 at the age of 78. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on in her daughters and grandchildren.

Sherry was born on August 27, 1946 to Clarence and Lillian Simpson in Amarillo, Texas. Known for her generosity and exceptional crochet skills, she found joy in every stitch she crafted. As granny, Sherry delighted in hosting Easter Egg hunts and Christmas gatherings that will be treasured for generations to come. Her love for her grandchildren shone brightly in every moment shared with them. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will shine bright in our hearts.

Sherry is survived by her three daughters, JoAnn Bennett, Cynthia Fuston and husband, Chad, and LeAnn Jolliff and husband, Kevin; two siblings, Terry Simpson and wife, Delores and Judy Burkham and husband, Sandy; nine grandchildren, Bryan Bezner, Michael and Joshua Bennett, Lillian Goombi, Chelsea and Colton Fuston, Matthew, Madison, and Noah Jolliff; and several great grandchildren.

She is reunited in peace with her husband, Jerry Lee Wood, father,
Clarence Simpson, and mother, Lillian Green Simpson.

A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held at El Reno First Baptist Church on October 5, 2024 at 10 am. A private interment will be held in the Union City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of El Reno for their love, support and care during a difficult time.
