Steven Patrick Conners

Steven Patrick Conners passed away peacefully, on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with family by his side.  He was born on October 11, 1961 in Oklahoma City, OK to John Patrick “Pat” Conners and Hilda Conners (Breed).  He was the youngest of 4 children.  Steven is survived by his sister, Teresa Poisson & husband Michael, 2 brothers, John M. Conners & wife Valorie, Mark A. Conners and his nephew Christopher Smith.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat & Hilda Conners.

Steven graduated from Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City in 1979 and went on to attend Oklahoma State University.  He was a very devoted and avid fan of any sport played by the Pokes but especially football, basketball and golf.  He loved to play golf and shoot pool whenever he had the opportunity.  

Steve was in the landscape business.  He loved to make his clients’ properties look their best in all seasons to make his clients proud.  

The family would like to acknowledge, his right-hand man and loyal friend Joao “John” Sampaio for all of his hard work to keep Steven’s business going as long as he could when Steven started having health issues.  Most of all, we would like to thank him for his very caring and dedicated friendship.    

The family would also like to thank his dear friend Pat Bates for his many years of friendship with Steve and all the help he provided to him over the years.

Steven loved dogs and horses.  Anyone who has seen Steven in the last few years, will remember his dog, Glen.  Glen was his faithful companion and accompanied him everywhere he went.  

Over the last 7 months, as his health declined, Steve suffered from a severe and very rapidly progressing  onset of dementia.  He was always very grateful to his friends that reached out to him even when he could not respond.  

Final arrangements are being completed for a service for Steven.  Date, time and location will be posted here as soon as the final details are determined.  

Funeral services for Steven Conners will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Nichols Hills, OK 73120.  Following the funeral service, internment will be at Resthaven Cemetery, 500 SW 104th Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
