Teresa Sue Hayes Wechsler

Teresa Sue Hayes Wechsler was born April 4, 1959 in Altus, Oklahoma to Beryl and Leota Privett. She passed away March 20, 2015 after a 3-year bout with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her mother Leota Empson and sister Beryl Ann Privett.

She is survived by her husband Rick Wechsler of nearly 16 years, her son Jeremy Privett, 3 granddaughters; Brianna, Emily and Aunica, her brother Jerry Privett and wife Cheryl, her sisters; Sonny Kay Hanna and husband Roger and LaDonna Hanna and husband Ronnie, brother-in-law Mark Davis, stepfather Gordon Empson, 8 nieces and nephews and 13 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Teresa’s heart was big and always in the right place. She was kind and would not turn her back on someone in need. Those whom she loved always know that it was unconditional because she would always put those she cared for before herself.

Over the course of her life had many pets. She was beloved by them. They would follow her around like lost puppy dogs though most of them were cats. Throughout her life she took part in many interest and activities including camping, softball, tennis, bowling, shooting pool, throwing darts, pitching horseshoes, and gardening. In her later years she enjoyed cooking new things and experimenting with recipes, especially baking. She loved to play games on her phone and at the casino. She became an avid collector of knickknacks, trinkets, and jewelry and had a knack for finding the valuable amongst all the junk, and she loved her coffee. Had to have her coffee!

Teresa was a caring, loyal, devoted, patient, and affectionate wife, mother, and grandmother. She is and will always be dearly and sorely missed.

A memorial service for Teresa Sue Hayes Wechsler will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at The Old Trinity Chapel of Paseo (3000 N. Lee, Oklahoma City, OK).
