With deep sorrow, we announce the death of William Gordon Willsey, who left us suddenly on December 15, 2024, following an accident in his home in Yukon OK where he had recently moved to be close to his only daughter, Natalie Ann Willsey and only grandchild Peri Lennon Nowlin. They were the light of his life. In addition to his girls and his beloved cat Buddy, he leaves behind his sister Susan Noble, brother Steve Hall, and his other brudda Jeff Hall, brother by choice Stu Edgar, countless adoring nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his father William Edward Willsey, mother Rose Hall (whom we have to thank for his quick wit and wicked sense of humor), Dad Richard Hall, brother Micheal Willsey and chosen brother Harry Douglas Bradbury Sr. William was born in Orlando FL August 24, 1949. As a toddler, the family relocated to Ogden UT to be near Rose’s family. After his father’s passing Rose remarried a wonderful man and the family moved to Bountiful in 1957 where he would spend the majority of his 75 years. Always known as the sharp-dressed guy in shades driving the impeccably kept cool car(s). After graduating from Bountiful HS and a brief “Hippie Van Voyage” with friends he answered the Vietnam draft. Fortunately, his knees gained him an honorable discharge and he returned home to attend a year at Weber State University. He later met and married Susan Ann Baird in 1972. They welcomed their daughter Natalie in 1977. He started his career at McKesson Pharmaceutical which took him to Las Vegas for a few years. When he returned to Bountiful, he became the manager of Bob’s Electronics where he worked until his retirement. He was a teacher to us all. If you knew him, odds are he taught you something. William’s favorite things include cars, guns, and good rock music. He was an aficionado of all three. His happy place was driving a stiff, well-handling sports car while blasting AC/DC. He was a truly good man. If you asked anyone who knew him to describe him in one word, that word would be, COOL. He is deeply missed. They broke the mold with Gordon. He was a true original. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Above all, he was the best dad and grandpa a kid could ever hope for. We love you Dad.
A Celebration of William’s Life will be held in the spring. Details to follow.
